Josep Borrell: Squeezed by Two Wars, Europe is in Danger!
The Head of Foreign Policy of the European Union, in his speech, said that Europe was in danger because it was being squeezed by two wars.
Josep Borrell, Wednesday (20/12/2023) in his speech at a meeting with the theme "The Great Continent" explained the position of Europe, currently between two wars, and threatened with danger. He said, "If we let Putin win in Ukraine, and if we let the tragedy in Gaza continue, then the European project could suffer fatal damage." Previously, Borrell expressed a request to stop Israel's attacks on Gaza due to international pressure, but still refused to demand a ceasefire. "As the French, German and British Foreign Ministers alluded to, Gaza civilians were killed in large numbers. Of course we see a terrible separation of civilians and non-civilians in Israel's military operations in Gaza," he explained. Borrell also mentioned attacks on places of worship, attacks on three Israeli prisoners, and attacks on hundreds of civilians in Israel's latest military operations. "Israel's military attacks on Gaza must stop, and a humanitarian pause as soon as possible is what is needed now," he added. As is known, the Ukrainian war has been going on for more than a year, and even though Western countries, especially the United States, have spent billions of dollars to defeat Russia, it has so far failed to achieve its target. Meanwhile, Israel's brutal attacks on Gaza, which are fully supported by the US and the West, have so far only resulted in more civilians being killed, especially children and women. (HS)
