Iraqi movement Kata'ib Hezbollah warns US against direct confrontation with resistance groups in Iraq Iraqi counter-terrorism group Kata'ib Hezbollah has warned US forces of "direct confrontation", saying its forces will seize surprise US troops and will deal them a severe blow if they launch airstrike-like attacks in neighboring Syria against positions of resistance forces in Iraq. Abu Ali al-Askari, a senior security official with Kata'ib Hezbollah (Hezbollah Brigades), made the remarks in a statement Sunday saying they would directly attack US bases if they target the positions of Iraqi counter-terrorism groups. "We reiterate once again that Kata'ib will directly target US bases across the region in case the US enemy commits a folly and decides to strike at our resistance fighters and their encampments [in Iraq]," he said . The US military launched several air raids in Syria on Thursday night against the positions of resistance fighters it blamed for a drone strike that allegedly killed one US contractor, injured another and also injured five US soldiers.
