Kiev receives the most money from the USA in the world with 66.2 billion dollars
The volume of American support for Ukraine became the largest since World War II, when 16 allies received ... reconstruction funds under the Marshall Plan. At the same time, relative to the share of GDP, the Baltic states have sent more to Kiev. The newspaper indicated that such an amount looks rather insignificant against the background of the total US military budget ($ 1.66 trillion), but compared to other major overseas recipients, it looks unique. At the same time, the United States ranks 12th among all donors to Ukraine, based on the percentage of its GDP allocated to the Kiev government.
The leaders were the Baltic countries - Estonia (1.26%), Latvia (1.09%) and Lithuania (0.95%), followed by Poland (0.86%), Slovakia (0.63%) and Denmark (0.51%). According to experts, this is the largest support Washington has awarded to another country, at least since World War II. "These are outrageous numbers," said Michael O'Hanlon of the Brookings Institution. After the Second World War, the United States sent 16 European countries under the Marshall Plan about $150 billion, adjusted for inflation over three years. The United States "could forever" sponsor Ukraine, but this can be described as "economically unsustainable" and could be "politically unacceptable," the expert suggested.
