Hundreds of American lawmakers and Jewish priests have declared their opposition to President Donald Trump's plan to annex the Gaza Strip in Palestine and forcibly relocate its residents.
Axios has revealed that 143 Democratic representatives have sent a letter to Donald Trump, urging him to reverse his comments on US control of the Gaza Strip.
In the letter, the Congressional representatives expressed their shock at the US president's call for the forcible removal of two million people from the Gaza Strip.
The lawmakers who signed the letter represent about two-thirds of the 215 Democratic members of the House.
The signatories of the letter warned that the move "not only violates morals," but will also "damage America's image in the world, put the country's military at risk, and increase the threat of terrorism."
In this context, 350 rabbis and priests in the United States have signed an announcement published in The New York Times, opposing Trump's plan to evacuate Palestinians from Gaza.
The full-page ad was headlined "Trump Calls for Removal of All Palestinians from Gaza. Jews Say No to Genocide."
The announcement includes the names of 350 Jewish priests, including some Jewish activists who oppose Trump's plan to withdraw Palestinians from Gaza.
On February 4, Trump announced, during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, that his country would occupy the Gaza Strip after expelling the Palestinians.
Trump's plan for Gaza has faced strong opposition from Palestinians, Muslims and the international community in general, while being praised at the political level of the Zionist regime in Israel.
