Kremlin spokesman: Iran is a clear example of development under sanctions
"Today's world makes almost any sanctions worthless; Iran is a clear example of a country that thrives under the pressure of sanctions," a spokesman for the Russian Presidential Office (Kremlin) said. He made a statement.
"We see how Iran has developed under the pressure of sanctions for decades, developed industry, developed the social sphere, developed its country," Dmitry Peskov added on Wednesday evening at the World Youth Festival event held in Sirius, Russia, with participants from 185
countries, RT news agency reported.
Russian President Putin's press advisor continued: "I have been to Tehran several times recently; Iran is developing despite living under sanctions for decades."
Peskov's remarks were made at a time when Russia was facing unprecedented Western sanctions following the start of military operations in Ukraine.
