Leader of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem says, "We Will Force the Zionists to Seek a Ceasefire."

In a recent address honoring the legacy of the late Hezbollah leader Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, the new Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah, promised in unflinching determination that Hezbollah's resistance against Israel will go on. Supported by regional friends, he said Hezbollah would finally cause Israel "ask for a ceasefire."

Honoring the legacy of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, he said, his leadership brought a varied coalition inside Hezbollah together and motivated unflinching loyalty among the party members. Referring to Sayyid Nasrallah's impact, Qassem cited Imam Khamenei, who called him unmatched, a movement servant with unwavering allegiance and moral character.

Regional Ties and Support for Resistance Movements: Hezbollah
Sheikh Qassem underlined in his speech Hezbollah's sympathy with other resistance organizations all around, especially those in Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon. He praised the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for their great assistance of these efforts. He said, this cooperation helps Hezbollah's position and ties its members together in what he regards as a "party of free people and fighters."

Criticism of Israel's Actions
Calling Israel's military operations acts of genocide, indiscriminate violence, and tyranny, Qassem denounced them. Emphasizing his demand for ongoing resistance against what he sees as an occupying force, he said Israel's rule is marked by "invasion and barbaristic behavior."

Regional Consequences and the Search for a Ceacefire
Hezbollah's discourse stresses a strategic objective: persuading Israel to ask for a ceasefire by means of continuous resistance campaigns. In the middle of continuous conflict, Qassem's remarks capture Hezbollah's attitude on the regional dynamics and its will to oppose Israel's influence. Given the unstable nature of the situation, experts believe that Hezbollah's stance could affect regional stability especially if escalation between Israel and surrounding nations keeps on.
