Libya: Tripoli's prime minister bombs Zawiya and sends a signal to opponents
Tension is very high in Zawiya, an important coastal city in Tripolitania, one of the main departure points for migrants and a crucial hub for Libyan oil product exports. The Defense Ministry of the Government of National Unity (GUN), the Tripoli-based executive body recognized by the United Nations, announced it had carried out air strikes against "the hideouts of fuel smugglers, drug traffickers and 'clandestine immigration".
Libyan military sources confirmed to "Agenzia Nova" that some drones hit positions belonging to armed groups linked to deputy Ali Buzriba (brother of Hassan Buzriba, leader of the Zawiya branch of the so-called Stability Support Forces, one of the most powerful militias area) in Abu Surra, about 50 kilometers west of Tripoli, and in the port of Maya.
The Libyan press talks about air raids conducted by the infamous Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones, information which however does not find official confirmation. At the moment there is no news of victims, but the situation is still very fluid and it is possible that there may be updates.
