Medvedev: The Oreshnik missile can cause destruction in the West in a few minutes
Last Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order expanding his country's ability to use nuclear weapons, saying Moscow might consider using them if faced with a conventional missile attack backed by a nuclear-armed state.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, has said that the country's "Oreshnik" missile can cause great damage to Western capitals within a few minutes, calling on Europe to stop providing military aid to Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev added that, "Europe is wondering what damage the Oreshnik system can cause if it has nuclear warheads, if it is possible to shoot these missiles and about their speed to reach the capitals of the old world."
He emphasized that "the damage will be great, and it is impossible to shoot down the missile using modern methods. We are talking about minutes," noting that "hiding will not help anything, and the only hope is for Russia to give an early warning before the launch of the missile "Oreshnik."
This comes after statements made by the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Palace, Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, confirming that the current confrontation is fueled by Western countries, indicating that the order to update the Manual of President Vladimir Putin can be recognized as a signal to the West.
