Moscow has warned about the West's attempt to create a coalition in the Asia-Pacific region

Within the framework of the 9th Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated: "The West is creating aggressive and military alliances like NATO in the Asia-Pacific region in order to control the Eurasian region."

In mid-November 2023, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the West is militarizing Southeast Asia in an attempt to contain Russia and China. 

He said: "Through the Indo-Pacific strategy, Joe Biden is trying to bypass regional cooperation structures and militarize the region, focusing on containing China and Russia in the Asia-Pacific region."

Earlier, addressing the leaders of Southeast Asian countries, Joe Biden spoke of a "comprehensive strategic partnership" between the US and the region, asserting that Washington is committed to building a free and open, stable, prosperous, resilient and secure Asia-Pacific region.

Washington is concerned about the fact that Russia and China, which the country calls revisionist powers, have challenged the international liberal order, the creator and supporter of which is the survival of the Western world, and are undermining the centuries-old authority of the West around the world, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.

Therefore, the growth of China's military power and joint naval and air cooperation and exercises between Russia and China in the Asia-Pacific region are of concern to the West. 

This is unacceptable from the point of view of the United States, which has always shown a one-sided approach in the world arena and advances its interests and goals at the cost of undermining the interests of other countries, therefore, that country is trying to limit and weaken the new global players China and Russia as much as possible.

For this purpose, the USA is waging a trade war against China, creating security and military alliances in the Asia-Pacific region.

And in the case of Russia, the USA is trying to weaken that country by prolonging the war in Ukraine.

However, the study of global trends indicates a tangible increase in the power of the countries of the Eastern and Eurasian region, and on the other hand, the decline of the West led by the United States.
