Moscow: The US is aimed at destabilizing the situation in Russia before the elections
According to RT, the Russian Embassy in Washington announced that the American authorities are going to destabilize the internal political situation in Russia through artificially whipped up Russophobic hysteria on the eve of the presidential elections.
The presidential elections of the Russian Federation will be held on March 17, 2024.
The Russian Embassy in Washington, in a statement on its Telegram channel, added that the artificially whipped up Russophobia in the United States confirms the focus of the American authorities on destabilizing the internal political situation in Russia.
The Russian Embassy, also condemning the anti-Russian statements of US State Department official Matthew Miller, emphasized that it regards such statements as a crude attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia.
Pointing to the death of anti-Moscow political activist Alexei Navalny and the anniversary of the murder of Russian political activist Boris Nemtsov, a US State Department spokesman yesterday condemned what he called Moscow's escalating domestic repression and called for cooperation with Washington's partners to pressure Moscow to release more than 680 Russian political prisoners.
