Naim Qassim: The struggle of Islamic fighters has surprised the world
The Secretary General of Lebanon's Hizbullah has emphasized that the fighters of the Muqawama camp are ready to continue fighting the enemy whenever they have to do so.
Sheikh Naim Qassem, the Secretary General of Hizbullah, in his first address since the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel that the Muqawama (Resistance) camp warriors are prepared to keep on their fight against the Zionist enemy whenever called for. Speaking at dawn this Saturday, Qassem praised the resilience of the Lebanese people—especially those living in the southern portion of the nation—during the recent war.
Over the sixty-four-day conflict with Israel, Qassem praised the people of southern Lebanon for their patience, tenacity, and sacrifices. He especially pointed out the difficulties experienced by the people compelled to flee their houses and relocate to safer places. He also commended the young fighters from these areas for their bravery in refusing to waver against the Israeli troops. Qassem assured the sons of Lebanon that they would keep fighting for their nation and keep their fortitude in spite of hostility.
The head of the Hezbollah characterized the conflict as an Israeli attempt to eradicate the organization, relocate Lebanese people, and realize Zionist aspirations of building a "Greater Middle East." Qassem underlined, nevertheless, that Israel's goals were a total failure. He noted that Hizbullah has started strikes right within occupied Palestinian land, forcing Israel to go on defense instead of keep its onslaught going.
Qassem underlined even further the degree of Israel's neglect by pointing out that the fighting had resulted in around 70,000 Zionist immigrants being displaced. Saying that their acts and readiness have startled the world and rocked the Israeli army to its very core, he commended the potency of the Muqawama forces.
With these comments, Qassem underlined Hizbullah's intention to keep on the fight against Israeli occupation, therefore indicating that the resistance is far from finished and will always be a strong factor in the area.
