North Korea's Central News Agency reported today that leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations in official correspondence. Correspondence between the leaders of North Korea and Russia was conducted in connection with the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945). According to Reuters, in his letter to Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un wrote: "The country's friendship with Russia was established after the victory over Japan in World War II, and now" its strength and invincibility in the struggle to crush the hegemony and arbitrariness of the imperialists has strengthened ".
Noting that he is confident that their friendship and solidarity will be further developed and become a long-term strategic relationship in accordance with the requirements of the new era, he added: "The two countries, North Korea and Russia, will always win and will support and cooperate with each other to achieve their common goals and objectives. In his letter to Kim, the Russian president also indicated that he would strengthen bilateral relations, adding: "Undoubtedly, we will strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, the decisive stability and security of the Korean Peninsula and all of Northeast Asia."
