Oxfam UK has announced that the Israeli regime has destroyed more than 80 percent of Gaza's water and sewage networks, causing dire health conditions.

A statement issued by Clemence Laguarda, Oxfam's humanitarian coordinator in Gaza, said: "Now, after the bombings have stopped, we are only beginning to understand the extent of the devastation."

Oxfam has announced that the Israeli regime has destroyed 1,650 kilometers of the Gaza Strip's water and sewage networks.

The humanitarian agency said residents of northern Gaza and the southern city of Rafah were receiving just 5.7 liters of water per day, less than 7 percent of the pre-war level. This amount was not even enough to flush the toilet once.

Oxfam has expressed hope that the ceasefire will continue and that fuel and humanitarian aid will reach Gaza so that Palestinians can rebuild their lives.

A United Nations, European Union, and World Bank assessment shows that reconstruction in Gaza and the West Bank requires $53.2 billion over the next 10 years.
