Palestinian children; the main victims of Israel's criminal policy in the Gaza Strip

Colonel Al-Arabi has reported that more than 70 percent of children in the Gaza Strip suffer from many health and physical problems, including anemia. According to the latest statistics, approximately 73 percent of the residents of the Gaza Strip are facing food shortages, and more than half of them live below the poverty line, a situation that reduces their ability to secure food and essential nutrients. The children of the Gaza Strip, have been going through a difficult and painful time for many years. Due to the difficult situation of the besieged area of the Gaza Strip, mothers and children are facing great challenges, one of which is malnutrition which has a great negative impact on children including increasing the risk of them getting frequent diseases.

For many years now, the Zionist regime has been denying children and people suffering from incurable diseases in the Gaza Strip to continue treatment outside the area, and as a result the patients of the area surrounded by the Zionists are facing the risk of slow death. The Zionist regime has seriously violated the rights of Palestinian children and does not comply with any of the conventions on the rights of children. The health sector in Gaza is facing a severe shortage of medical equipment and medicines, and this issue has had many negative effects on the lives of patients, especially children. Palestinian children being detained by the Zionists The three consecutive wars of the Zionist administration against the Gaza Strip have caused the destruction of most of the medical equipment of the hospitals in the zone or caused them to not work properly. Since the victory of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the 2006 national elections, the Zionist regime has besieged the area of more than 2 million people and turned it into the world's largest open prison, where children pay the highest price. of that crime, by sacrificing their souls. In the 2006 elections that were accompanied by the participation of 77 percent of the people, the Hamas movement was able to win 76 seats out of all 132 seats in the Palestinian Parliament.

In the past two decades, Palestinian children are the main victims of human rights violations by the Zionist regime, where more than eight hundred thousand children in Gaza have been under siege since birth. The siege has deprived the people of the area of their basic rights, namely the right to live, access to medical services, transportation and education, since the last 17 years, and this has been greatly contributed to by the silence of international institutions. According to United Nations reports, the level of unemployment in the Gaza Strip is very high where in the last year of 2022, the level reached 46.6 percent, the level of unemployment among young people aged 15-29 between that number being the highest at 62.5 percent. In addition to the effects of the siege, the systematic damage done by the terrorist regime of Israel against the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip during its frequent attacks in the strip has adversely affected its economic situation where many industrial sectors have been destroyed.

The siege of the Gaza Strip by the Zionist regime has caused great losses in infrastructure systems, energy, electricity and also the health sector, and the regime does not allow medical services to be provided inside and outside the zone. Having good health and education are among the basic rights of every human being and all international laws and agreements emphasize that right, but the Palestinians have been denied that clear right and no one in the world defends them on that issue. The international community does not take any measures to stop the siege and oppressive sanctions against the Gaza Strip, and the saddest thing is that recently the humanitarian aid to the strip has also decreased. The Zionist regime is deliberately implementing a policy of "not dying or living" against the residents of the Gaza Strip, where it denies them and violates their basic rights, including living and accessing medical services.

These actions have made more than 2 million Palestinians, especially women, children and cancer patients who need regular treatment in the hospitals of the West Bank of the Jordan River and Beitul Muqaddas, to become hostages of the brutal Israeli regime. The brutality of the Zionist soldiers against the Palestinian children In order to reduce the further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and to completely remove the sanctions implemented by the Zionist regime, practical measures should be taken with the aim of fully implementing the resolution number 1860 of the Security Council adopted in 2009. The sad situation does not end there, but Palestinian children and young people, apart from enduring the difficult conditions of life caused by these cruel restrictions, are struggling to death due to the heavy attacks of the Zionist army
