Another person set himself on fire near the White House during demonstrations in support of Palestine in the United States. According to Sputnik, local media reported that a person attempted to set himself on fire during a demonstration in support of Palestine near the White House.

The Washington Post reported that the protester, who opposed the war in Gaza, was taken to hospital after setting himself on fire and survived. The demonstration was held on the first anniversary of Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023. According to media sources and based on video footage, around a thousand people in Washington protested, holding signs reading “Freedom for Palestine” and demanding an arms embargo on Tel Aviv while waving Palestinian flags. US police have completely quarantined the scene and increased security measures.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war and Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, this is the fourth US citizen to set himself on fire in front of an Israeli embassy or consulate or during demonstrations against the massacre of Palestinians and the Biden administration’s collaboration in this genocide.

In December 2023, a protester set himself on fire in front of the Israeli consulate in Atlanta. A Palestinian flag was found near this painful protest. Also, Aaron Bushnell, a US Air Force veteran, set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington on February 25 this year and died in hospital from severe burns. He was shouting "Freedom for Palestine" until his last moment.
