Pentagon: China imports enriched uranium from Russia
The Russian company Rosatom is supplying highly enriched uranium to China This was stated by US Undersecretary of Defense John Plumb in a hearing in the US House. "We are very concerned about cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in this area," added the Pentagon official, stressing that "China is engaged in a rapid expansion and diversification of its nuclear capabilities." The uranium has officially been sent to fuel breeder nuclear reactors that use plutonium and, Plumb points out, "plutonium is used to make nuclear weapons."
