Protest against Silicon Empire's blocking of social network accounts of Ayatollah Khamenei

Iran’s foreign minister has described Meta's action to block the accounts of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Instagram and Facebook as insulting, immoral and illegal, in addition to violating freedom of expression.

In an interview with the Middle East Eye news magazine, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the freedom of speech slogans of some Western regimes are hollow and showy slogans and a cover for their illegitimate political goals. Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian The FM added: “The Leader is the world's most prominent supporter of the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza, and the Silicon Valley empire cannot prevent this voice from reaching world public opinion.” He further mentioned that one of the signs of the breakdown of morality and the moral system of the world is the irrational behavior of American platforms in censoring the words of Ayatollah Khamenei and the supporters of the displaced people of Gaza and over 30,000 Palestinian martyrs in the last 5 months, and this company must answer for its illegal and unethical behavior.

In a hostile and anti-freedom move, Meta Platforms, which until 2021 was operating under the name of Facebook, announced not long ago that it had taken action to delete the Internet accounts of the Honorable Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on Instagram and Facebook.

In justifying its action, Meta has claimed that it has done so because the accounts of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatullah Khamenei, have violated the organization's policies regarding dangerous institutions and people. Before that, the social media accounts of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran were limited and even deleted on other Western platforms including Twitter. And this in a situation where, the speeches given by Ayatullah Khamenei in recent months - of calls to Muslims in the world to support the Palestinian Authority; and the citizens of the nations to put pressure on their governments in the region to break relations with the Zionist regime after the crimes of that regime in the Palestinian lands, especially the Gaza Strip -, apart from being supported and received with a positive attitude by the people of this region, have offended them and angered Western leaders and media.

For that reason, the Islamic Republic of Iran has condemned the unfair action of the Meta Organization to delete the social media accounts of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, believing that Ayatullah Khamenei is the most clearly heard voice of the supporter of the oppressed citizens of Iran. Palestine and Gaza in the world; and that whatever it may be, the Western media network will not be able to prevent that voice from reaching the minds of the majority of the world.

The disrespectful action of the Meta Organization to close the social media accounts of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution

The anger of the West for the support of the Supreme Leader for the noble struggle of Palestine and the events currently taking place in Gaza, as well as the unreasonable actions of the American Internet platforms to delete some of the statements of Ayatullah Khamenei and the supporters of the Palestinians of Gaza who were left homeless, are witnessed in a situation where more than 30 thousand Palestinians have been martyred in the five-month attacks of the Zionists in Gaza, but until now, the Meta organization has not been able to show any position against the movements and barbaric actions of the Zionists .

Accounts of Leaders are being closed or deleted in a situation where, in recent years, individuals, leaders and even ordinary citizens of Western countries have used every excuse in social networks to spread hatred against Islam and disrespect the holy book of Muslims, the Qur'an. with their Prophet.

Supporting those who dishonor the holy religion of Islam with about two billion followers under the pretext of freedom of expression in Western countries is another example of conflict with the double-edged policies of Western countries in defending freedom of speech and human rights.

Although freedom of expression is one of the main issues that the Western powers are harping on, but history shows that in the field of politics, those powers tend to agree with a certain policy only if it is in line with their interests and values.

But opposite to that, Islam emphasizes having all the freedom and does not differentiate them because of their origin, religion and race. For that reason, the action of the Meta Organization (former Facebook) to delete the account of the Leader of the Faithful not only can be considered as a clear example of the double standards of Western countries in the matter of freedom of expression, but also should be considered as it is a step to revive and move the Zionist regime to continue its crimes in Gaza.

Despite this, the experience of 45 years of the Islamic Revolution has shown that the Islamic Republic and its leaders, especially Imam Khomeini (MA) and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution Ayatullah Khamenei, are never intimidated by threats, obstacles and media pressures in the way of defending the rights and freedom of the nation of Iran and other oppressed nations, including Palestine; and the political and unprofessional action recently taken by the American organization Meta to close the social media accounts of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to silence the voices of opposition and supporters of the oppressed nations in the world, especially the Palestinians of Gaza, will only increase the awareness , more support and understanding of Muslims in fighting for their rights and those of the oppressed Palestinian nation.../
