Republican senators introduce bill to withdraw US from UN
US Republican senators have introduced a bill to withdraw the United States from the United Nations.

US Republican senators have introduced a bill to withdraw the United States from the United Nations.
A document posted on Senator Mike Lee's website states that "The bill would repeal the United Nations Membership Act of 1945."
In addition, if the bill is passed, the US must "cease all financial support to the UN."
The bill also "prohibits U.S. participation in UN peacekeeping operations."
In addition, the bill provides for the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO), UN conventions, and also eliminates the diplomatic immunity of UN employees on US territory.
The text states that if the bill enters into force, any further interaction between the US and the UN will be possible only with the approval of the Senate.
The US President's statements came against the backdrop of ongoing discussions on a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump has said that Russia is not to blame for the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden are responsible for it. In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that the war could have been prevented, but the sides made the wrong steps.
"Every time I say Russia is not to blame, the fake news media attacks me. But Biden and Zelensky had the wrong story. Ukraine was attacked by an adversary that is much bigger and stronger, and that's bad, but Russia could have been very easily persuaded not to attack, and there would have been no war," Trump said.
In addition, the American leader criticized Zelensky's negotiating skills. In his opinion, the Ukrainian president has performed poorly as a negotiator and does not have a trump card for dialogue with Russia.
"I've been watching him for years and seeing how he negotiates without having a trump card," Trump noted.
He also commented on Zelensky's complaints about not inviting the Ukrainian president to the talks held in Saudi Arabia, saying that the Ukrainian president is not a key figure in such meetings.
"He complains that he wasn't invited to the meeting, but he negotiated for 3 years with a president who didn't know what he was doing (referring to Joe Biden - ed.). Nothing has been achieved in those 3 years, so I don't think his presence is important," Trump said.
These statements by the US President came against the backdrop of ongoing discussions on a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
