Resignation of Benny Gantz

Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli military cabinet, officially announced his resignation from that cabinet and called for early elections. According to the Al-Alam network, Benny Gantz called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an obstacle to victory in the war in the Gaza Strip and stressed that his presence in the military cabinet is due to common destiny, not political partnership. The Zionist War Cabinet member said leaving the War Cabinet is a difficult and painful decision and asked Netanyahu to hold elections and form an internal investigation committee as soon as possible.

Noting that Netanyahu is obstructing strategic decisions because of his political interests, Gantz added: “We are leaving the war cabinet because Netanyahu is preventing us from moving towards real victory.”

A member of the Zionist regime's military cabinet also said: "We support Biden's plan for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, and asked Netanyahu to accept this plan."

Benny Gantz stressed: “We must make every effort to reach an agreement on the return of Israeli prisoners, more than 1,000 Israeli families paid a high price in the war against the Gaza Strip.”

The resignation of Benny Gantz, a member of the Zionist regime's military cabinet, amid serious disagreements among cabinet members and Netanyahu's disruption of ceasefire plans, has provoked reactions from supporters and opponents of the regime's prime minister.

In this regard, Benjamin Netanyahu, in response to Gantz’s resignation from the Zionist regime’s military cabinet, said: “Now is not the right time to resign.”

Netanyahu added: “For any Israeli party that can enter the War Cabinet, its doors are open to help win the war and ensure the health and safety of Israelis.”

After the resignation of Benny Gantz, the Minister of Internal Security of the Zionist regime, Itamar Ben Gvir, asked to join the military cabinet.

Ben Gvir said: “The time has come to take bold decisions and create real deterrence and ensure the security of the people of the south and north, as well as for all of Israel.”

Yair Lapid, the Zionist regime's opposition leader, also said of Gantz's resignation: "This decision to leave a failed war cabinet was important and correct."

Lapid said: "The time has come for a prudent cabinet that will restore security and return the 'hostages' (Zionist captives), as well as restore Israel's international standing, and replace this extremist cabinet."

On the other hand, the leader of the Israel Our Home party, Avigdor Lieberman, noting that the resignation of Benny Gantz from the military cabinet was a good decision, added: “The time has come to form a Zionist coalition.”

On Friday night, at a recent meeting of the Israeli military cabinet, Gantz threatened that if there were no significant changes to the agreement on the release of Israeli prisoners in the next 24 hours, he would resign on Saturday.
