Rocket Attacks Hit US Military Bases in Syria
United States military bases in eastern Syria have again become the target of rocket fire. The United States, which has been stealing Syrian oil for several years, has sent more equipment and ammunition to its bases in eastern and northeastern Syria in recent months. Local Syrian sources Sunday (13/8/2023) morning reported that a number of rockets were fired from the Hawijah Saghr area in Deir ez-Zor at the location of an American military base in eastern Syria.
This was the second rocket attack on a US military base in eastern Syria in the last 24 hours. On Saturday morning, the US military base at the Conico gas field in northeastern Syria came under rocket fire. A Syrian group known as the Popular Resistance on the East Euphrates issued a statement of responsibility for Saturday's rocket attack, and announced that recently 5 rockets were fired towards the American military base in the Al-Omar oil field, four rockets were fired at the Conico base , 1 rocket and several drones fired at Al-Shadadi base.(PH)
