Russia captured the Ukrainian city of Avdiyivka
Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Oleksandr Sirskiy announced that they decided to withdraw troops from the city of Avdiyivka in the Donetsk region.
In his statement on his social media account, Sirskiy stated that based on the operational situation around Avdiyivka, he decided to withdraw troops from the city and take action to defend more convenient positions in order to avoid the siege and protect the lives of the soldiers. "Tavriya" Operational and Strategic Unit Commander Oleksandr Tarnavskiy stated in his post on his social media account that they left Avdiyivka to move to the positions they had prepared in advance, in accordance with the orders they received. Tarnavskiy said, "This is the only correct decision in a situation where the enemy is advancing under constant bombardment, with a ten to one bullet superiority over the corpses of his own soldiers. The siege was not allowed, our soldiers withdrew and took up defense at certain borders." he said.
