Russia is open to dialogue with the West, but on the principle of equality
Moscow remains open to dialogue with the West on strategic stability, but to discuss all issues together on the basis of equality, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the session of the 32nd Assembly of the Foreign and Defense Policy Council.
"We remain open to dialogue with the West, including on the issues of security and strategic stability. But first of all, not from the positions of power, not from the positions of one's own exclusivity, but only on the basis of equality and respecting each other's interests," said Lavrov.
He added that the second important moment for Russia is that the dialogue should be about all the problems that exist in today's world, in the field of strategic stability and the military-political landscape.
Lavrov agrees with the opinion that Europe will not be Russia's partner for at least another generation. He quoted the Russian political scientist Trenin, who wrote in one of his articles: "Europe as a partner is not relevant for us at least for a generation." The minister emphasized that they practically feel it every day.
