Russian Minister: The West is stealing billions of our money, the US and the EU are making a historic mistake

Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Ivan Chebeskov has said that the act of taking the interest earned on the blocked assets of the country to provide loans to Ukraine is against international law and will have unexpected consequences for Western countries.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the governing bodies of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank held in Washington, USA, Chebeskov emphasized by saying: "without any doubt, these decisions taken by the United States and the European Union are not legal, they contradict the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter and go against everything that exists".

Chebeskov has told Russian media that such actions would have "historically negative consequences" for the international financial system.
