Sanctions and Criticism the US's Only Choice in Response to Iran's Military Attack on the Israeli Regime's Military and Security Headquarters

Faced with Iran’s strong military response to Israel’s crimes, American officials have only criticized Iran and threatened to impose further sanctions. According to AP, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called Iran’s missile response to Israel’s attacks “unacceptable” and called on the world to condemn the action.

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) also condemned Iran's action in raining missiles on the occupied territories and announced in a statement: "If Iran attacks American interests, we will defend our citizens. We condemn this reckless attack and call on Iran to stop future attacks, including through its power." Meanwhile, the US State Department spokesman also criticized Iran for not providing prior information about its attack on occupied Palestinian land.

Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department, said in a press conference: Iran did not inform us about this before attacking Israel. Meanwhile, the White House announced after Iran's missile attack on Israel that Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, were monitoring Iran's attack on Israel and that the US President had issued orders to help Israel. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed in her weekly press briefing with reporters the imposition of a new round of sanctions on Iran for attacking Israel. Referring to Iran's missile attacks, he said:

Our broad sanctions against Tehran remain in place, and there is no doubt that we will continue to enforce them. The Islamic Republic of Iran, after a period of restraint against the violation of its sovereignty and terror against Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau in Tehran, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Secretary General of Hezbollah, Brigadier General Sayyed Abbas Nilforoushan, Iran's military advisor in Lebanon, and also the massacre of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese women and children by the Zionist regime, relying on the Charter of the United Nations and in legitimate defense, Tuesday (1/10/2024) night attacked this regime with at least 200 ballistic missiles.
