Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan, who traveled to New York to participate in the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, said that the only solution to the Palestinian issue is the formation of an independent Palestinian state. “There is no solution to the conflict between Palestine and the Israeli regime without the formation of an independent Palestinian state.” Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister added that consultations are underway with the European Union, Egypt and Jordan regarding the resolution of the Palestinian issue. An official from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Sunday that Riyadh has informed Washington that it will halt any negotiations related to the normalization of relations with Tel Aviv or any action against it.

The Zionist Radio and Television Organization (Makan) reported a few days ago, quoting the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken: "The Saudis have told us very clearly that the Palestinian issue is an important issue and central to normalization of relations with Israel, and from Riyadh's point of view the normalization of relations should include the implementation of the two-state solution. The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister emphasized his country's commitment to a political solution to the Syrian crisis. According to the WAS news agency, Faisal bin Farhan said this on Sunday evening at the headquarters of the Saudi delegation to the United Nations in New York and at a meeting with Geir Pedersen, the United Nations special envoy for Syria.

According to this report, at the meeting, Bin Farhan discussed the developments of the political solution to the Syrian crisis and the joint efforts of Riyadh and the United Nations in this regard, as well as the follow-up to the results of the Arab League Conference recently held in Jeddah. Bin Farhan also said at the meeting that Saudi Arabia is committed to preserving Syria's territorial unity, security and stability. Both sides had previously met twice and discussed the latest developments in Syria.
