Settlers' provocation: money for those who sacrifice animals in al-Aqsa

AL QUDS - Groups of Jewish extremists have announced that settlers who perform sacrifices at al-Aqsa mosque during Passover will receive cash prizes. 2,500 shekels will be paid to anyone arrested for possessing an animal at the Islamic holy place interior. The groups have called for massive raids on the al-Aqsa mosque to mark the Passover holiday in April, despite widespread opposition from the Muslim community and potential backlash from Palestinians. On Wednesday, 15 rabbis sent a letter to Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asking to allow animal sacrifices in the al-Aqsa mosque during the Jewish holiday. Several human rights and anti-extremist organizations have warned against the raids of settlers in the al-Aqsa mosque, underlining that the slaughter of animals and the celebration of Easter in the mosque constitute a provocation towards the feelings of Muslims.
