Shoigu urged the West not to try to involve Russia in a long negotiation process
If the West thinks that it can involve Russia in a long negotiation process on the issue of Ukraine and play out such a scenario, as a result of which Moscow will gradually lose the initiative during the special operation, then it is terribly mistaken. Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu made this statement in a conversation with journalists.
He noted that perhaps it is time for Kiev to start thinking about the value of the "good services" of the West and start thinking about the interests of its people.
"But, unfortunately, we still see the opposite," he said.
Shoigu noted that the Europeans are again in every possible way hindering the achievement of real progress in the Ukrainian settlement by putting forward clearly unacceptable initiatives in the spirit of the Copenhagen or Swiss formats.
According to him, the situation is partly reminiscent of the Berlin Congress of 1878, when the European powers tried to neutralize most of Russia's achievements during the war with Turkey with the help of diplomatic maneuvers.
To remind, in the early morning of February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine, because the People's Republic of Ukraine and the People's Republic of Ukraine requested help.
