Biden asked Netanyahu "not to spew nonsense"
During a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Joe Biden demanded that the latter stop lying about the hostage negotiations. This is reported by the Israeli TV channel 12.
During the conversation, in which Biden was reportedly angry and urged Netanyahu to make a deal now, the president demanded that the Israeli prime minister stick to his promise of a deal and cease-fire with Hamas.
Netanyahu stated that Israel is making progress in the negotiations, but Biden, according to Channel 12, gave an undiplomatic answer. "Stop spouting nonsense."
The White House said that during the phone conversation, the politicians discussed the possibility of Washington's "defensive military deployment" to support Israel.
Axios wrote that Biden had a "tough" private conversation with Netanyahu, in which the American leader urged the Israeli prime minister to stop escalating tensions in the region and move on to discussing a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages.
