Somalia wants Germany not to deport African immigrants
Somalia has asked Germany to stop its plan to deport Africans, including Somalis. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Wednesday to discuss cooperation on the deportation of Somali migrants.
The Somali government spokesman Farhan Mohamed Jimale published a statement on X and said that Mohamud told Olaf Scholz that there is no need to forcibly repatriate Somalis living in Germany . Mohamud said the doors are open to Somali people who no longer have the right to asylum and want to return to Somalia voluntarily .
The President of Somalia has said: " They are welcome to return to their country, join their families where they can contribute to the development of the country and be part of the common development of Somalia." A total of 65,000 Somalis live in Germany . Germany is blamed for violating human rights in its plan to deport refugees from Somalia who say they fear for their lives when they return home.
The German government's stance against refugees has also been influenced by the spread of racist white groups with extreme stances against foreigners.
