South Africa wants the United Nations Security Council to protect the Palestinians
South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor told the SABC news agency on Friday that: "We are happy that the court has taken seriously the issues that we presented before it and has confirmed that an urgent decision is needed from the court to stop these attacks against the Palestinians innocent,"
Pandor said Israel has been "recklessly breaking the law for so long" that it doesn't care what the international community says.
He added that: " I think it is our responsibility as member states of the United Nations and especially the Security Council of the United Nations because it is responsible for managing Peace and Security in the world, so now they must decide the steps to be taken to protect the Palestinian people."
He said the decision of the United Nations High Court is a "very clear call" to stop the attacks against Rafah.
Pandor has said that there has been an international awareness about the situation in Palestine and the rich countries of the north are now starting to speak against Israel's brutality and recognize Palestine.
