The Spanish government has announced that the country's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will meet with some of his colleagues in the European Union next week to try to support the issue of the official recognition of the Palestinian state.
This is happening while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Australia announced that Canberra will consider the issue of recognizing the state of Palestine, something that is recognized as a change in the country's policy.
The spokeswoman for the Spanish government, Pilar Alegria, has told reporters that Sanchez's agenda includes meetings with the prime ministers of Norway, Ireland, Portugal, Slovenia and Belgium, and highlights the European Union's position on Israel's war on the Gaza Strip in Palestine. .
Alegria added that: "We want to end the human disaster in Gaza and help start a political peace process that will lead to a two-state solution as soon as possible."
Previously, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez said that he expects Madrid to recognize the state of Palestine by July this year, adding that he believes that soon there will be an "important camp" within the European Union to push many members to take that position.
The position follows the brutality and genocide that continues to be carried out by the brutal Israeli regime against the people of Gaza in Palestine.
