State of the Union demonstrated Biden's fiasco in foreign policy

Biden delivered the second annual State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening to review the previous year's challenges and outline his objectives for the next year. After his address, however, Biden was once again the focus of media controversy.

State of the Union demonstrated Biden's fiasco in foreign policy

After losing the House majority, this was Biden's first annual address to Congress. In his 73-minute address, Biden hoped to provide a better image of America since he assumed office two years ago.

Even though Republicans are opposed to Biden's agenda and the likelihood of enacting federal programmes is far lower than when Democrats controlled Congress, the Biden administration aims to pique Republican support.

One of the most distinguished aspects of presidential speeches in the United States is that they should stand out from the speeches of other world leaders. As seen in Vice President Biden's dull speech, the United States has lost its historical hue of global leadership since Donald Trump's presidency.

If a nation's politicians believe their country has leadership status, they must speak out for their own interests and those of their allies. Biden's recent address has highlighted an isolationist pattern that has emerged since Trump took office, though with a tinge of defeat.

Although the United States sees itself as the leading Western power, Biden utterly failed to elucidate his foreign policy. Inign policy, particularly concerning the Ukrainian crisis, and draw a comparison between the United States and its allies regarding their economic situations. Biden gave an unimpressive speech in which he credited himself for most of the US' modest economic growth. In reality, Europeans have had to pay the price for Biden's illusionary successes. It is still being determined how much longer those European allies will be able to keep spending their money on the growth of the American economy.

Iran was another significant aspect of Biden's speech. Since the United States' hostile sanctions against the Iranian people have failed, and since it would be hard for Biden to address this issue given Iran's achievements in most economic sectors, the fact that he did not discuss it is understandable.

Iran now manufactures all of its essential medicines and, despite US illegal sanctions, exports food and medicine to the rest of the world, develops its needed defences, and maintains the power balance with the US and its allies.

The United States may take the equipment but not the science, so even if the 2015 nuclear accord were to be revived today, it could not coerce Iran back onto its track of nuclear development.
