Palestinians commemorated the 75th anniversary of their Nakba on May 15, the same day Israel's occupying regime celebrates its creation through the killing and displacement of Palestinians and theft of their homes and lands. Infopal reports it.

According to statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, 70 percent of Palestinians are refugees, and one in three refugees in the world is Palestinian. According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinians (UNRWA), nearly a third of registered Palestinian refugees – more than 1.5 million – live in 58 official refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic, Gaza Strip and West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Refugees residing in Lebanon are the most vulnerable, as 93% of them live in extreme poverty for various reasons, mainly due to the country's difficult economic situation and the ban on practicing 39 professions. Then there are the refugees in the Gaza Strip, as the coastal enclave has been under a severe Israeli siege for 17 years and has been the target of several major, deadly offensives by the regime over the past 15 years.
