Sudanese are marking the first anniversary since the start of the civil war
Social media users in Sudan have marked the first anniversary of the civil war in their country between the National Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), calling for a ceasefire, saving what is left and rebuilding the country.
On April 15, 2023, the residents of the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, were awakened by gunfire in the conflict between two sides that have been allies for many years, namely the Sudanese army led by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the fighters of the Aid of Haraka (RSF) led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo. So far these clashes have caused the deaths of thousands of people, extensive damage to infrastructure and forced millions of others to flee their homes.
Social media users say that the war in Sudan is entering its second year between the army and the RSF forces, but the civilian is paying the high price, and that he is still facing the worst types of crimes and human rights violations committed by the militias and the RSF, if includes murder, robbery, robbery and rape.
They have also written that: Actions to force citizens to move their homes and to burn villages are still continuing, and there are still thousands of prisoners who are facing the worst forms of daily torture in RSF facilities.
On the other hand, some Sudanese accuse the national army of continuing the fighting without any intention of resolving the war, in order to maintain the military's control over the country and marginalize the civilian administration.
The Sudanese have also called for increased domestic and international efforts to end the war in Sudan and stop the suffering and human tragedy before it gets worse.
