Superiority of UAVs over Abrams: The Riddle of the Weakness of American Weapons in Ukraine

Recently, the destruction of US weapons in the Ukraine war has become a problematic issue for Americans. In this regard, the New York Times wrote: American-made tanks are being targeted and destroyed by Russian UAVs in areas of special military operations.

American newspaper New York Times wrote that the Ukrainian army lost five Abrams tanks in the last two months, mostly due to UAV attacks.

The drone war in Ukraine, which has transformed modern warfare, has imposed a deadly toll on one of the most powerful symbols of American military might, the tank, the New York Times said.

According to the newspaper, depending on the size and complexity of the UAVs, these UAVs can cost at least $500, which is considered a relatively low investment to destroy a $10 million American Abrams tank.

The American media also reminds in its report that Ukraine has lost a total of 796 tanks since the beginning of the conflict with Russia.

Additionally, former United Nations weapons inspector and former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the last equipment purchased for Ukraine with Congressional funds will be destroyed by Russia by July.

Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson also announced that the new aid package to Ukraine and other countries is useless for the USA.

The senator said: "We continue to mortgage our children's future, we have spent more than $900 billion on defence, but every time a defensive move is made it becomes clear we need to do more."

The senator added that ensuring border security should be a priority before spending more money.
