Sweden issues arrest warrant for Koran violators

The public prosecutor's office in the Swedish city of Malmö has issued an arrest warrant for the Danish-Swedish politician "Rasmus Paludan", who recently desecrated the Holy Koran. Rasmus Paludan is a politician and lawyer. He is the founder of the Danish anti-immigration and Islamophobic party Stram Kurs (“Stricter Course”).

The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet wrote on Thursday evening that the Malmö City Prosecutor's Office had issued an arrest warrant for Paludan for "multiple offences". According to the report, Sweden has been investigating Paludan for two months for "provocative action against a group of people, insulting and openly attacking a person in charge".

According to Aftonbladet, Paludan was summoned for questioning, but he said that "it was dangerous for him to go to Sweden" and he would make a virtual statement with the help of the Danish police. In January, Paludan burned a copy of the Holy Qur'an in front of the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm. A week later, Paludan burned another copy of the Holy Koran in front of a mosque in Denmark. The abusive actions of this far-right politician have drawn the ire of Muslims around the world.
