The British Labor Party has suspended an MP for calling Israel's attacks on Gaza a 'genocide'
The British Labor Party has suspended MP Kate Osamor after she said Israel's war against Gaza should be remembered as an example of genocide in the world.
Osamor sent a message to members of his party on Sunday - the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day - listing Gaza among the latest examples of genocide. Among the genocides that should be remembered in the world mentioned by the British MP are those that took place in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and now Gaza. Labor officials have confirmed that Osamor has been suspended by the opposition leader, Sir Alan Campbell, "pending an investigation." The British Jewish Parliamentary Council has condemned what it said was Kate Osamor's "attempt to link the Holocaust to the current situation in Gaza," describing her remarks as "disgraceful." It will be remembered that South Africa has filed charges in the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian people.
