Ione Belarra, Spain's Minister of Social Rights, previously called for ending his country's arms cooperation with the Zionist regime and trying Netanyahu as a war criminal. A few days ago, the Spanish politician touched on the tragedy in Gaza by saying, "We witnessed firsthand the genocide carried out by Israel in Palestine, and I do not want to be their accomplice." Ione Belarra, Monday (16/10/2023) responded to the events that occurred in Gaza in the last few days and said, "Israel has carried out collective punishment against the Gaza population." The Spanish Minister of Social Rights, explained, "Israel, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without electricity, drinking water and food, then bombarded civilians. This constitutes collective punishment, and a dangerous violation of international law, and can be considered a war crime and genocide." Belarra added that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, must be dragged to the International Criminal Court, ICC in The Hague. "The residents of Gaza are threatened with mass murder supported by the United States and Europe, and I want to express my opposition to this condition," he stressed. The Spanish Minister of Social Rights explained that the European Union, and the United States, were provoking Israel, to continue its hostile policy towards Palestine. This year, Spain purchased military equipment worth 300 million euros from the Zionist regime and signed another purchase agreement worth 700 million euros.​ Fighting between resistance forces and Zionist criminals has entered its 46th day while the bombing of settlements, hospitals and schools in Gaza by the Israeli military continues. The government information office in the Gaza Strip announced Monday that the death toll from the Zionist regime's aggression in Gaza had risen to 13,300, and the number of injured had risen to more than 31,000.​
