The Democratic Republic of Congo has announced a new government today Wednesday, thus ending the political uncertainty of more than five months since the re-election of the country's president Felix Tshisekedi.

The new Council of Ministers of the Democratic Republic of Congo has 54 ministers including Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka. Ms. Tuluka is the first female Prime Minister appointed in Congo in early April this year.
President Felix Tshisekedi has appointed Jacquemain Shabani as Minister of the Interior. Shabani is the former Director of Tshisekedi's election campaigns who was also his chief adviser on political and electoral issues.
The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has also appointed a Mananese Therese Kayiwamba as Minister of Foreign Affairs replacing Christophe Lutundula.
The new cabinet of the Democratic Republic of the Congo with 16 female ministers has been created after six months of consultation between the new allies of the President who control the national parliament with 95 percent of the parliamentary seats since the last election in December last year.
All this is happening where the Congolese army announced last week that it has suppressed a coup attempt in the country's capital Kinshasa and arrested several people for being involved in the plot.
