Von der Leyen announced a new assistance package that includes the lowering of roaming charges from January 1, 2024. "By tripling our investment target, which will reach 1.6 million euros," said von der Leyen underlining that Moldova will participate in the joint gas procurement platform.
In Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, according to the police, today between 75,000 and 80,000 people took to the streets to participate in the Great European Assembly, the demonstration in support of Europe announced by President Maia Sandu. The demonstration took place in the Great National Assembly Square and the police did not report any incidents, according to reports from the Moldovan media NewsMaker. President Sandu addressed the crowd, as did the head of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, who had come to Moldova especially for this occasion.
The participants of the meeting adopted a resolution in support of the European integration of Moldova which stated that Chisinau wants to become a full part of the European Union, which can ensure its stability and will allow to realize its potential.
