The French president claims that his country will not take any action to further anger Russia
The French president has claimed that his country will not take any military action to anger and annoy Russia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Sputnik news agency has quoted Emmanuel Macron as saying this and adding that the current situation in the conflict zone is "difficult for Ukraine" but despite that, Paris will not take any action to anger Moscow.
In February, Paris and Kyiv signed a 10-year security agreement that includes France's pledge to provide $3.2 billion in military aid to Ukraine this year by 2024. The agreement also includes providing Kyiv with modern military equipment compatible with the weapons provided. and NATO as well as training for Ukrainian soldiers.
But right now Macron claims that the French defense sector is not ready to enter into a major conflict with Russia, although it is ready to participate in decisions to prevent Russia from winning. He gave these answers when he was asked about his assessment of the state of the French defense sector.
He said: "Today we are facing great opposition. It is the right time to say that if Russia continues the war and the situation worsens, we too must prepare ourselves - and we will be ready to make decisions that will ensure that Russia will never win. We will do everything in our power to achieve our goal. "
Continuing his biting and blowing remarks, Macron has said: "France is not waging a war against Russia or against the people of that country, but it supports the government of Ukraine."
