The nationwide voting exercise to elect the president of Russia has officially started today.
According to the report, a total of 93,920 polling stations have been arranged for Russian citizens to vote, of which 93,644 stations are inside and 269 stations are outside the country, and seven polling stations are located at the Baikonur air base.
Vladimir Putin (the current president), Nikolai Kharitonov (of the Communist Party), Vladislav Davankov (of the New People's Party) and Leonid Slutsky (of the Liberal Democratic Party) are the candidates for the presidency in the election.
According to the TASS news agency, 114,212,734 million people are eligible to vote in the presidential election, of which 112,309,947 million live in Russia.
The number of Russian citizens abroad who met the conditions to vote in this election is 1,890,863.
