Hundreds of German civil servants have joined the movement to ask Chancellor Olaf Scholz to stop providing weapons to the illegal Israeli regime while the regime continues its war crimes and genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

About 600 senior public sector workers wrote a letter to Scholz on Monday, calling on him and his top officials to "immediately end arms shipments to Israel ."

" Israel is committing crimes in Gaza that are in clear violation of international law," said one part of the letter.

The group cited a ruling by the International Court of Justice in January that said Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip amounted to "acts that can be described as genocide ."

The case was brought to the world court, located in The Hague, against the South African government in December .

Nicaragua has also brought Germany before the international court to ask the judges to issue a judgment on emergency measures to prevent Berlin from providing Israel with "weapons and other aid ."

Nicaraguan lawyers have said that Germany is facilitating the genocide in Gaza by arming the government of Tel Aviv .

International pressure is mounting on Germany and the US to end arms deliveries to Israel as the regime's six-month genocidal war continues in the besieged Gaza Strip, with more than 33,300 Palestinians killed so far, most of them women and children. .

Germany and the United States send about 99 percent of all weapons imported to Israel; This is according to an analysis published in March by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) .
