In line with Washington, which imposed sanctions on 500 Russian individuals and legal entities in connection with the death of Alexei Navalny, a well-known opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the European Union also announced on Friday that it is imposing restrictive measures on another 106 individuals in connection with the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine. and 88 organizations responsible for weakening or destroying the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The European Union announced today (Friday) that in the 13th package of sanctions against Russia, it imposes sanctions on 27 companies that support Russia's military operations, some of which are located in third countries.

According to the package of sanctions, these companies will be subject to stricter export restrictions related to the export of goods and technologies that are of dual purpose, as well as contribute to the technological improvement of Russia's defense and security sector.

Some of these entities are located in third countries, including India, Sri Lanka, China, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Turkey, and have been involved in circumventing Russian trade restrictions.

As a result of the package of new sanctions applied against Russian individuals and legal entities related to the situation in Ukraine, in total, more than 2000 people are included in the scope of these sanctions.
