The New York Times: American long-range missiles will not change the situation in Ukraine
American authorities have repeatedly expressed doubts about the effectiveness of supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles.
The New York Times, citing some aides to US President Joe Biden, wrote: “The main issue is the long-range ATACMS missiles, which the Biden administration previously promised to deliver to Ukraine in September but postponed due to some concerns about the escalation of tensions.” and expansion of Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory." The newspaper further writes: “The concern now is that these missiles will not change the situation in Ukraine, since Russia knows how to counter them.” It should be noted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been persuading Washington for several months to supply long-range missiles to Kyiv. Vladimir Zelensky The American newspaper Politico earlier in October, citing informed American officials, revealed details of Washington's decision to secretly provide Ukraine with long-range missiles and wrote that this decision was made in July after the failure of Ukraine's counterattacks. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, NATO member countries, which includes the United States, providing Kiev with great military support, abandoned the diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and continue to add fuel to the fire of war, and now, equipping Ukraine with modern and heavier military weapons are clearly provoking the Kremlin. And this despite the fact that Moscow has repeatedly warned Western countries that supplying weapons to Ukraine will only prolong the conflict.
