According to Syrian media reports, early Sunday, Israeli warplanes "carried out airstrikes from the side of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting several areas near Damascus."
The reports added that the Syrian air defense forces shot down most of the missiles. There were no injuries in the attack, but there was damage to buildings.
The illegal Israeli regime often carries out airstrikes on military bases in Syria, especially those of the Lebanese Hizbullah group.
Hizbullah has played a major role in helping the Syrian army in its war against terrorists supported by foreign powers, especially the Zionist regime of Israel.
Since the start of attacks by foreign-backed militias in Syria in 2011, Israel has emerged as a major supporter of terrorist groups that oppose the democratically elected leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
The latest attacks also come amid an increase in Israeli aggression against Syria. On Tuesday, the Israeli regime also attacked several Syrian military positions near Damascus.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry says Israel is trying hard to hide its failure in the Gaza Strip by attacking Syrian soil.
