The world continues to call for an independent Palestinian state
Various world leaders have called for a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip and the existence of a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine and said that this is the only way to have lasting peace in the area.
Israel's illegal regime, which has vowed to eradicate the Palestinian Islamic Movement, Hamas, has rejected calls for an independent Palestinian state and said it will continue to control security in Gaza even after the war ends. Its main ally, the United States and several other countries, have suggested that a two-state solution is the only way to ensure lasting mutual security. Before the meeting with Israeli and Palestinian delegations, the European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell insisted on a two-state solution and said Israel cannot maintain peace at gunpoint. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has said that the existence of two states of Israel and Palestine is the only solution in the Middle East conflict. 27 EU foreign ministers will meet with Israel's foreign minister Israel Katz, before speaking with the Palestinian Authority's chief diplomat Riyadh al-Maliki. The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia will also hold talks with the European ministers. The Palestinians, especially the resistance movement in Palestine, have been insisting that the only way to resolve the Palestinian issue is to continue the struggle against the brutal Israeli regime that commits crimes every day against the Palestinians.
