Israeli attacks have demolished 1,000 mosques in Gaza

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Gaza Strip has said that the attacks by the forces of the brutal Israeli regime against the besieged area have demolished and destroyed 1,000 mosques since October 7 last year until now.

 The Palestinian Information Office in the Gaza Strip has quoted the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the zone as saying that, since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has destroyed 1,000 of the 1,200 mosques found in the occupied Palestinian territory. The ministry has said that renovating the mosques will require more than 500 million dollars. It has been stated that some of the places of worship are historical heritage and are more than 1000 years old. In addition, Israeli forces have destroyed and desecrated dozens of cemeteries in the Gaza Strip from October 7 until now, in addition to attacking churches. The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of Gaza has reported that the Orthodox Church, which is the oldest and historic, is among the churches destroyed by the Israeli attacks in Gaza. The statement of the ministry has added that the barbaric attacks of the Zionist regime have led to the killing of more than 100 martyrs, scholars, preachers, imams, and religious leaders since October 7 until now. Likewise, the Israeli attacks against Gaza have been reported to target the offices of the zakat collection committee, Quranic madrassas and the headquarters of the Wakf Bank. This is in a situation in which, the independent human rights organization Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has reported that the Zionist regime of Israel has killed 94 university professors, hundreds of teachers, and thousands of students in the Gaza Strip during of the last three months.
