The decision of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to include the historic area of Palestine in the World Heritage List has angered the Zionist administration. The AAA news agency has reported that the decision to place Al-Sultan (Tal al-Sultan) in Jericho (Ariha) as a world heritage was made at the 45th meeting of the World Heritage Committee, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the delegation of the Zionist regime also participated. Ernesto Otten, Deputy Director General of UNESCO, said at the meeting that:

This is a place proposed to be included in the world heritage, the ancient Tal al-Sultan, which dates back to prehistoric times and is outside the ancient area of Jericho (Ariha). At the same time, Otten has noted that: There are no traces left of Jews and Christians in this area, but the traces that exist in this area are those of the period of history between 10,000 and seven hundred years before the birth of Nabi Issa (as). The Tal al-Sultan area is located 10 km north of the Dead Sea and 2 km north of the center of Ariha.
