Torture of 170 Palestinian teenagers in prisons of the Zionist regime

Official Palestinian sources, citing the Deputy Palestinian Ministry of Social Development, Asim Khamis, reported that 170 Palestinian children and teenagers were tortured in prisons of the Zionist regime.

According to the AAA news agency, Khamis, speaking at a regional conference on preventing violations of children's rights in Doha, Qatar's capital, on Sunday remarked: "The number of Palestinian children arrested and jailed as a result of the Zionist occupation from 2015 to the end of 2020 exceeded 7500 people."

Khamis added: "The Zionist occupiers are always trying to create problems for the lives of Palestinian children, deliberately arresting them and threatening them."This Palestinian official called for the Zionist occupiers to be held accountable and prosecuted in courts for violating children's rights and punished to the fullest extent internationally.

Torture and abuse of Palestinian prisoners, including children, by Israeli troops, police and prison guards is common. The Zionist authorities have been extremely cruel to Palestinian prisoners and have been using torture tactics for decades.
